Trend Technologies, the manufacturer of medical components, was visited by Irish officials, with the occasion of expanding their facilities
ISO Class 7 is the latest expansion of the company’s cleanroom. With the occasion, it has welcomed the minister delegates for Business, Enterprise, and Innovation, Heather Humphreys TD, Peter Burke TD (FG), and Robert Troy TD (FF).
The officials reviewed Trend Technologies’ Research and Development programs, developed in partnership with Irish Manufacturing Research (IMR).
The tour focused on the firm’s moulding services, robotics, welding, printing, digital and laser technologies. Meanwhile, the classroom manufacturing space was upgraded and expanded by 50 per cent, due to the market’s high demand of medical device parts. The refurbishment was part of a €3 million investment.
“We are delighted to welcome Minister Humphreys and the other local public representatives to Trend Technologies today to see the range of technologies employed at the site, and the level of technical expertise of the company’s highly skilled and dedicated workforce. It is great that the Minister has taken the time out to see first-hand all that is happening in the industries located in Mullingar,” commented the company’s managing director, Dónal Lawlor.
Trend Technologies has recently won the Best Business Initiative of the Year award at the 2017 Plastics Industry Award.
