According to latest data, Canadian registered users have consumed 40% more medical marijuana during the last six months

While recreational use of the plant is on the edge of legalization in the country, expected for this year’s July, the medical consumption of cannabis has been taking off significantly in Canada.

Currently, 235,621 Canadians use medical marijuana, up 40 per cent when compared to the month of March. This sums up almost 0.6 per cent of the country’s population.
The figures were released by Health Canada, the country’s public health agency.

Accordingly, Canadian marijuana stocks are expected to experience huge sales growth, as because of medical purposes, such as easing the pain of people suffering from chronic illnesses, the drug is forecast to be extensively used in different therapies.

Canopy Growth Corp. , for example, the world’s biggest pot stock owns a registered market worth C$6.2 billion ($5 billion) set to grow with the expected recreational legalization this summer.
